5/26/09 WE HAD A GREAT MEMORIAL DAY SHOW HERE AT SIPSEY ARENA! NBHA Alabama District 02. For those that missed it we had Free Food! and a Great day of Barrel Racing! A BIG Thank you to everyone that was HERE! We had folks come from not just Alabama, but Mississippi, Georgia, and Tennessee! We also had the AL 02 2008 Awards banquet inside the store (hince the free Food and Drinks for everyone that came to the race!). We had wonderful awards, the best food, and great people. Thanks to Karen Hulsey our District and State Director for organizing our banquet.Thanks to Joe for the leg work. And all the other District members that helped! SIPSEY ARENA STUDENTS at the Memorial Day Race 2009 YOUTH RACE - Kelsey Baker came in 4th in the 1D (good job). Erica, Jessi, and Anna Marie all had clean runs (in the 1D) but just weren't fast enough to place. 2D - Jessi Pendley won the 2D while Erica came in 4th on a horse she was trying out. 3D - Khloe came in 5th in the 3D. Mary Sullivan Kirkland was having a great run on her new horse but clipped the 2nd Barrel... OPEN RACE - Erica won the Open 1D with a 14.392! Kelesy had a great run on Slim running a 14.642 (great run Kelsey!) Anna Marie won the Open 2D! Jessi ran 2 good clean runs in the 2D (just weren't fast enough to place). Erica placed 2nd in the 3D (on the new horse "KK"). Mary Sullivan was just out of placing in the 3D with Hula! (Way to go Mae Mae!) A 15.6 way cool! Landrey had a clean run on Molly, blew off the 3rd barrel, (but the first 2 were awsome!) Tiffany had her best run yet in the 3D - it just gets better now! Kellyn Boyd won the Open 4D! Great Job! PeeWee Barrels - Mary Sullivan was smokin' on BlueBelle and clipped the 2nd barrel. You looked smashing! WAY TO GO GUYS! YOU DOMINATED THE OPEN RACE!!!!! 92 Entries in the Open and 56 in the Youth. 30 Adult/Senior entries. 6 PeeWee Entries.
